By on 20 March 2012

Californian tech-death brutes Cattle Decapitation are geared up to released the follow up full-length to 2009’s ‘The Harvest Floor’ with their seventh album ‘Monolith Of Inhumanity’ on May21 (Europe) through Metal Blade. Produced by Dave Otero (Cephalic Carnage) in his Colarado Flatline Audio studio, singer Travis Ryan told Terrorizer it wasn’t all a barrel of laughs:

“It was a horrible recording,” he says. “It was freezing, we got snowed in and everything that could go wrong in the studio, it did. We had nothing to do most of the time, it was fucking boring.  But the record came out fucking awesome. It’s our best yet.”

Talking about the album’s  theme the singer explains:

“The artwork speaks for itself and I really want people to read the lyrics to this album. But  ‘The monolith’ symbolises the technological advancement of man. It plays off the last album a little, where the final song [‘Regret And The Grave’] keeps mentioning ‘What have we done? How have we got here?’ – and this album says ‘This where we are and this is where we’re heading.'”

st video for the new song ‘Kingdom Of Tyrants’ and are looking to release a pre-order package which will include collectors cards featuring the band members as 80’s gore humour series Garbage Pail Kids.

“We got one of the original artists Tom Bunk to do each band member as their own card. It’s such an awesome thing for us to do because we were all big fans of the cards when we were younger.”
