Denigrata release video for ‘Kyrie Eleison’

Denigrata have released a video for ‘Kyrie Eleison’ which is taken from their self-released album ‘Missa Defunctorum’. You can buy ‘Missa Defunctorum’ from the band here.

At the tail end of 2015, we premiered new music from these black metal upstarts. They released their debut album, ‘Missa Defunctorum’, back in November (we gave it 8/10!) but they’ve not been resting on their laurels since. In fact, they’ve been busy working on a video for album track Kyrie Eleison, and managed to rope in a special guest star along for the ride.

Master of the graphic novels and notorious recluse, Alan Moore, makes a cameo, which adds to the eerie mystery of this suitably bleak video. A mutual appreciation for the occult saw these Northampton locals teaming up together for the video, shot on location close to home, by Cavan McLaughlin.

The band comments:

“It was both an incredible and important experience working with Alan; much of his recent work, such as Show Pieces and Jerusalem centre on our shared home town of Northampton, UK, which is a strange, intoxicating place with a rich, dark history.  Denigrata also wanted the engagement with the environment to be real, not photo-shopped or digitally altered. Consequently standing half-naked in a freezing lake in February presented that opportunity and any look of pain on our faces is authentic!”
