Castle Stream New Album ‘Under Siege’ Exclusively With Terrorizer

By on 12 May 2014

The triumphantly heavy Castle are all set to release their anthemic new album ‘Under Siege’ next week, but you can listen to the whole thing right now, exclusively with Terrorizer…

‘Under Siege’ is the band’s third album since forming back in 2009, and is probably their most assured and confident sounding record to date. Marrying doom laden riffery to a gloriously no-bullshit heavy metal backbone, the trio have arrived at quite a distinctive sound, topped off with the nimble bass work and soaring vocals of frontwoman Elizabeth Blackwell, who had this to say about the album:

On this record I wanted to summon the powerful and unrelenting feeling I get while playing live. I was casting out demons and stating my position in life.”

The new album was recorded at Sharkbite Studios in Oakland, California, with legendary producer/mixer Billy Anderson (Cathedral, Sleep, Melvins), and features stunning cover artwork from Russian symbolic painter Denis Forkas Kostromitin (Behemoth), with whom the band previously collaborated with on their Juno-nominated 2012 release ‘Blacklands’.

‘Under Siege’ is due to be released on May 16th via Ván Records.
