Melodic death/doom titans Katatonia are planning to release a single version of 'The Longest Year', taken from their most recent album 'Night Is The New Day', new track 'Sold Heart', a remix of 'Day & Then The Shade' remix, plus videos, and an alternative version of 'Idle Blood', as 'The Longest Year' EP which is out March 15 on Peaceville. KATATONIA ANNOUNCE UK HEADLINE TOUR

Katatonia are to tour the UK in March 2010 in support of recently released, critically acclaimed new album "Night Is The New Day", out now through Peaceville.

These newly announced dates come hot on the heels of a stint across the UK supporting Paradise Lost, and a cracking performance at the Hellfire festival in Birmingham. Included in the upcoming dates is a show at Hammerfest II in Prestatyn, alongside the likes of DevilDriver and Napalm Death.

KATATONIA 'NIGHT IS THE NEW DAY' TRACK BY TRACK

With the new Katatonia record being described as their most eclectic yet, we thought we’d give you a track by track guide to Night is the New Day, just in time for their appearance at Hellfire festival this weekend. Opinions of the album so far appear to be a mixed bag, probably due to the fact the band have taken a slightly different twist in their post-doom ways, some people find it hard to deal with slight change but I hope this won’t affect you guys. Let the gloomy times commence!
