I know there's already a 'next gig' thread, but surely it makes more sense this way round, as then you can tell everyone what you thought of the gig rather than just say "I'm so excited about seeing..."

I went to see Mos Def last night and he was awful. Shitty sound, he hardly rapped, he either sung out of key, or the DJ just played 'What's Going On' and 'I Got A Woman' while Mos talked over the top. Boring. Still, I did get to go for free.

Night before I went to see Destruction and Onslaught. I was very impressed by both, particularly Onslaught's singer, and the venue (Satan's Hollow in Mancheste) was very good too I thought, the stage is circular. It was thrashtastic. One bloke kept shouting out for songs by just about every German band he could think of, making Schmier say at one point, "you idiot, we're not Sodom, we're Kreator!"

Jesu and Monogwai last night.

Massacre, Denial Fiend, Extreme Noise Terror and a bunch of shit euro-support...

Masscare rocked my socks rite off, Denial Fiend were pretty cool and E.N.T. were the sonic violence you'd expect them to be...it was a great night, never been to the Carling Islington Academy which was an alright venue (more suited to indie-bedwetter tunes I'd imagine but blah) and I got to meet Kam Lee, Terry Butler and when I went for merch it was Paul Speckmann from MASTER serving people Laughing out loud Laughing out loud Laughing out loud Needless to say it was killer to talk to Death/Thrash royalty Laughing out loud

High On Fire + Pelican november 14 in my hometown. Pelican was cool, but got a bit boring after 30 minutes. High On Fire SLAYED!!!! Heavy shit! It was the third time I saw them, but this was definitely the best HOF gig I've seen. Go check it out if you get the chance!

That's hilarious!!

Within the storms of thy burning hate,
Lies the destiny of the false,
My scorn of the whitest lie,
Seals my fate among the rotting.

My scorn of the whitest lie,
Burns like a calling blaze.

A mate of mine just decided, half an hour before it started that she was going to see Alice Cooper and Motorhead last night...
With no ticket bought before hand or anything, and she got into the VIP area...
I really don't understand how that's fair.
Sad

I want to go meet Gorgoroth after next weeks gig!!!!

Jello Biafra spoken word show at a church in Highbury last night. The first time I saw him he kind of melted my mind and had to leave early to get my train. This time I was more mentally prepared and actually manged to stay to the end, the downside was because the cunting Victoria line was down I couldn't get the last train home, at least I found a reasonable cheap hotel for the night.

I hate when that happens.

I really wanted to go and see Jello Biafra's show here, but couldn't really afford it. Henry Rollins is touring again in the new year, but I've already seen him but not Jello.

JB is a smug self satisfied thieving cocksucker who has betrayed punk and stolen from his friends.

I would've thought you'd be more intelligent than to start talking silly about "betraying punk" or SELLING OUT MAN!!!

But yeah, all that witholding royalties stuff isn't really that cool.

well, i wasnt being entirely serious, but the man has no credibilityleft and thats what he thrived on. he stole from his friends, leaving them penniless is some instances in order to fund his own self indulgent projects. so fuck 'im.

He did actually pay the Kennedys the money he owed them when they pointed out he forgot, then they sued him anyway

How was it? They were by far and away best band at Reading festival this year. I found at when they played here (Manchester) they opned with a Smiths song. Which is nice. Heard their cover of Guns Of Brixton?

Stunning. I can't believe how well their sound translates live, especially with about 50 people in the band. They played an awe-inspiring cover of State Trooper by Bruce Springsteen as well, but I haven't heard any of their other covers.

I went to the Hard Rock Hell fest at Butlins, Minehead last weekend, courtesy of tickets won on the Terrorizer website. A great weekend.

Damn. I've got to think of something witty to put here.

They were absolutely awesome. The best band of the weekend, imo. The only band that came close was Turisas.

Yes. MDB were very good.

I have posted a review on another site. If you want to see it, I'll post it here too.
