West Virginia’s old school death metal killing machine Infirmary has joined forces with UK black thrash scourge Aetherium Mors for a brand new split release, and you can stream the entire thing right here with Terrorizer…

Despite forming back in 1992, Infirmary didn’t materialise into a fully fledged, lasting project until 2010, when guitarist/vocalist Aaron Carey (Nechochwen, Forest Of The Soul, Unwilling Flesh, End) reformed the band with bassist/drummer Andrew D’Cagna (Nechochwen, Obsequiae, Brimstone Coven, Unwilling Flesh) and began trying to create death metal songs in the spirit of the albums they grew up listening to – cult favourites like ‘Cross the Styx’, ‘Realm of Chaos’, ‘Horrified’, and ‘World Downfall’ to name a few.

On the other side, Plymouth’s very own Aetherium Mors put on a sterling display of blackened death metal, that was originally released last year on the ‘Entrails Of The Soul’ EP. Formed back in 2004 by multi-instrumentalist Dan Couch and vocalist / lyricist Kane Nelson, the band’s Dissection-esque grimness was completely self-produced this time round, a choice made in order to achieve the sound the band had always strived for but been unable to attain when recording in conventional studios.

This split is available now via Eihwaz Recordings.
