Ommadon Premiere New Song Exclusively With Terrorizer

By on 14 July 2014

Scottish drone/doom duo Ommadon are set to release their monolithic new album ‘V’ in August, but if that seems like too long to wait you’re in luck; the band have joined forces with Terrorizer for an exclusive premiere of the album’s absolutely crushing opening track, and you can hear it right here, right now…

The pair are adept at cultivating humongous walls of noise, as their thick, oppressive sound makes full use of impossibly weighty drones and riffs that feel almost infinite. ‘V’ is their fifth full length, was recorded live by the band themselves in a forest in the highlands, and contains no overdubs – just pure doom. Split across four sides of vinyl, the double record was mastered by Billy Anderson (Sleep, Eyehategod, High On Fire etc) so you can bet your favourite Sunn O))) picture disc on this thing sounding heavier than a dying planet.

‘V’ is due to be released on August 4th, but is available to pre-order now, either from Dry Cough Records here, Burning World Records here and Domestic Genocide Records here. You can also check out the first track below…

Ommadon will be heading out on tour with Horse Latitudes and Coltsblood next week. The full list of tour dates is as follows:

23rd July – The Head Of Steam, Newcastle (with Bong)
24th July – The Black Heart, London
25th July – Stuck On A Name Studios, Nottingham (with Bismuth)
26th July – St John The Baptist Crypt, Bristol (with Bast)
27th July – Maguire’s Pizza Bar, Liverpool

You can find Ommadon on Facebook.
