Legendary metal label launches new compilation album and wants YOUR band on it!

The legendary and revamped Music For Nations label have launched a competition in conjunction with Terrorizer for new bands to feature on a forthcoming compilation – ‘Speed Kills VII’.

During the ’80s and ’90s the ‘Speed Kills…’ series were essential compilations that featured emerging new artists such as Voivod, Bathory, Metallica, Slayer, Possessed and many more bands that have gone on to be seminal and genre defining artists. Now, in 2016, Music For Nations will be releasing a new version of the compilation featuring some of the best new extreme artists from around the world.

Already confirmed to feature are unreleased or rare tracks from the likes of The King Is Blind, Voices, Amulet and classic thrashers Acid Reign, and now label manager Joel De’ath wants bands that love Terrorizer to submit their music for consideration.

“The series brought us so many bands which have gone on to legendary status”

“What an honour to continue the compilation LP series that ended almost 25 years ago,” he says. “The series brought us so many bands which have gone on to legendary status and many people heard them first on the ‘Speed Kills…’ series. Keeping to the spirit of the previous ‘Speed Kills…’ LPs, they’ll feature new bands as well as classic extreme metal acts.”

‘Speed Kills VII’ will be released on vinyl and digitally during the summer. “When I was growing up, as well as listening to the Tommy Vance’s Friday Rock Show on the Beeb, the ‘Speed Kills…’ compilations were my Bibles for discovering new bands when my funds for buying albums was limited,” says Terrorizer commissioning editor Darren Sadler. “I discovered some killer tracks and killer bands through these records and most of these artists have never left my record collections since. The fact that Music For Nations are not only reissuing the old series but also creating a new series is music to my ears!”

To submit your music, visit the Music For Nations Facebook page and share your music. That’s it! Closing date for submission will be 31 March, please note Editor’s decision is final.
