Oozing Wound release video for ‘Diver’

By on 3 October 2016

Oozing Wound have released a video for the track ‘Diver’ which is taken from their album ‘Whatever Forever’ which is released 14 October on Thrill Jockey. You can buy ‘Whatever Forever’ here.

Speaking about the album the band said:

“The only thing that was really different about this album is that we made Kyle play better since he decided to quit.  Should of thought of that a long time ago!”

Speaking about the track ‘Diver’, the band stated:

“The song is a reflection of my feelings on my mom dying and the feeling that you don’t put yourself purposefully into bad situations, but it’s kind of your fault anyway.  There is no objective safe place to latch onto; things and people change.  The last line in the song, “Just think, some sink, some sink, just when you thought it a safe float” is the crux of it all.  You can spend your life trying to get to this point where there isn’t any anxiety or sadness, but it’s a false sense of security.  Of all the songs we’ve done this is the closest any have come to being personal, but I also deflect a lot of it by making the rest of the song sarcastic.  All the bad things in this character’s life are from external forces, and I know a lot of people who feel that way about how things happen to them.  At the end of the day it is all about what you do with it.”
