Godflesh Reveal First New Studio Recording In 12 Years

By on 20 September 2013

Industrial metal pioneers Godflesh have released their first new studio recording in 12 years, a crushing cover of Slaughter’s ‘F.O.D. (Fuck Of Death)’.

Godflesh have been working on a new album, tentatively titled “A World Lit Only By Fire” and scheduled for a 2014 release date, but this is the first taste of new music from the band since 2001’s ‘Hymns’.

‘F.O.D. (Fuck Of Death)’ is a song that appears on Canadian death/thrash legends Slaghter’s seminal 1987 classic ‘Strappado’ (a record that should be an essential part of any metal collection), and is performed here in that trademark Godflesh style, complete with merciless drum machine pounding, G.C. Green’s churning bass lines and Justin Broadrick’s unbelivably heavy guitar tone.

You can stream Godflesh’s cover of the song here, and keep up to date with the band on Facebook.
