Daily round-up: Falloch, British thrash documentary, RAM

By on 12 September 2011

Atmospheric Scottish newcomers Falloch have released a digital single entitled ‘Beyond Embers And The Earth’, taken from forthcoming album ‘Where Distant Spirits Remain’. The single also includes a b-side called ‘The Ghosts That Haunt This Path’ and can be purchased here. As announced last week, Falloch will be playing Candlefest in November.

The documentary charting the UK thrash scene ‘A History of a Time to Come – The Story of UK Thrash’ is now halfway through production. The film will include contributions from the first wave of bands such as Onslaught and Acid Reign as well as newer blood like Terrorizer cover stars Evile and London’s heroes of the underground Mutant, covering the whole history of British thrash.

And finally, former touring mates of Watain, Swedish trad metallers RAM have signed to Metal Blade to release third album ‘Death’, currently scheduled for early 2012.

Meanwhile, online ed Tom was stunned today when his choice of death metal today (Krisiun) met with widespread approval, and the office agreed once again that Devin Townsend is indeed brilliant. This seems to be happening rather a lot recently. Rightly so too.
