Obscene Extreme 2013 is a matter of days away, so we got organiser Curby to sum up his festival in just eight songs.

JOHNNY CASH ‘I Walk The Line’ (‘JOHNNY CASH WITH HIS HOT AND BLUE GUITAR’, 1957)
“A good song to start the trip to OEF, we all have to walk the line to get to Trutnov… and after the world tour should find another Cash classic, ‘Cry, Cry, Cry’! Ha ha!”

NAPALM DEATH ‘Siege Of Power’ (‘SCUM’, 1987)
“…during the whole weekend, of course!”

MUNICIPAL WASTE ‘Born To Party’ (‘THE ART OF PARTYING’, 2007)
“Fuck yeah! Being with friends from all around the world, it’s that time of the year!!!

NASUM ‘Inhale/Exhale’ (‘INHALE/EXHALE’, 1998)
“Uarghhhhhh, that’s what we have to do any time ha ha! And it’s a great grind song as well!”

ASSASSIN ‘Speed Of Light’ (‘THE UPCOMING TERROR’, 1987)
“Yeah, that’s what most bands do, speeeeeeeeed music!”

BRUTAL TRUTH ‘Walking Corpse’ (‘EXTREME CONDITIONS DEMAND EXTREME RESPONSES’, 1992)
“Some of our friends are walking corpses sometimes…”

DISMEMBER ‘Soon To Be Dead’ (‘PIECES’, 1992)
“It’s almost the end of the festival!”

BEATLES ‘Help!’ (‘HELP!’, 1965)
“Some can feel like that at the end of the fest for different reasons… some want to save themselves from audio terror, some want to continue!”

In Terrorizer 237, we speak to the hero/madman that is Curby, behind Terrorizer-sponsored grindcore heaven Obscene Extreme. You can pick up your copy of issue 237 with the free Fear Candy CD here or you can get your digital Terrorizer right here.
