By on 10 March 2017

Mammothfest have announced Fleshgod Apocalypse, Dragged Into Sunlight, Lawnmower Deth and a dozen more acts to play the three day festival over 6-8 October 2017 which already includes a UK exclusive show from Rotting Christ as well as performances from  Tjusder, Meta-stasis, Lagerstein, OHHMS, Patrick Walker (40 Watt Sun) and many more. Tickets for Mammothfest 2017 are available here.

The second headliner will be Italian avant-garde symphonic extreme act, Fleshgod Apocalypse heading up the Death/Extreme metal main stage on Saturday the 7th October for their only other UK performance in the UK in 2017, along with a further 15 acts spread across various stages over the weekend! Fleshgod Apocalypse will only be doing two UK shows this year, so asides from their performance in Scotland in April, Mammothfest will be the only event where you can catch the band in the UK in 2017.

The six-piece leads the forefront of death metal in Italy and for a good reason. The Italians are inspired by renowned composers such as Morbid Angel, Cannibal Corpse as well as classical influences from Mozart, Beethoven and more. They have released four albums to date, their latest offering being ‘King’ (2016) through Nuclear Blast Records.

To date, Fleshgod Apocalypse has toured worldwide with established acts such as Behemoth, Dying Fetus, Napalm Death, The Black Dahlia Murder, Whitechapel and more. You won’t want to miss their triumphant and unforgettable set at Mammothfest!

Announced for the Saturday 7th October 2017 Death/Extreme metal MAIN stage, DRAGGED INTO SUNLIGHT join Fleshgod Apocalypse as main support on the main stage. British extreme metallers from Liverpool, UK, Dragged Into Sunlight have been brought in as the main support to headliners, Fleshgod Apocalypse. They have been delivering their intense and brash sound for over a decade now, since 2006. There is a lot of mystery and intrigue surrounding the band, as they reveal little information about their identities, even going as far as to hide their faces, wearing balaclavas. Their live performances are a stranger affair, as they play with their back to the audience. They have to be seen to be believed in what will be the darkest Mammothfest weekend to date.

Also on the death/extreme main stage is thrash metal legends, Lawnmower Deth. They like to have fun whilst playing their thrash punk crossover sound. They formed back in 1987 and were active until the 1990’s and then reformed in 2008 in style by reuniting as support to massive Welsh metalcore band, Bullet For My Valentine. Since then Lawnmower Deth have landed many big supports and festival appearances, including Download Festival on a couple of occasions, Bloodstock, Hammerfest and more, and now it’s time for them to stun the crowds at Mammothfest also!

Announced for Friday 6th October 2017 on the Black metal stage MAIN stag completing the line-up is The Infernal Sea, a Black Metal act from the UK who aren’t afraid to push boundaries. Their intense live sets have earnt them support slots with big acts, Anaal Nathrakh, Napalm Death and more, as well as having the honour of headlining the ‘New Blood’ stage at Bloodstock open air in 2013 and touring Europe on a number of occasions.

Friday 6th October 2017 Black metal stage 2nd stage

Headlining the second stage is Ethereal, a symphonic Black Metal act from Liverpool, UK. Boasting a unique and large sound, they have established themselves as one of the most exciting Black metal acts today. The five-piece has two successful EP’s and a solid debut album, ‘Opus Aethereum’ under their belts which aided their impressive support slots with bands such as our Saturday headliners, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Belphegor and more. With the band unleashing some of their most dynamic and advanced material to date, this is a band you need to keep an eye on. Ethereal will play between Tsjuder and Rotting Christ.

The first VIP after party band on Friday will be Deitus from London, UK who formed back in 2004. They have been slaughtering the UK with their savage live shows, so stick around after the main event to witness the carnage.

Closing the VIP after party stage on Friday is concept band The Crimson Brigade from Chesterfield, UK. They describe themselves as Black vampiric war metal. The band are currently rallying the troops on their ‘Scorched earth holocaust’ tour sweeping the UK with Mammothfest reigning in on the war.

Saturday 7th October 2017 Death/Extreme metal 2nd stage
All the way from Colombia we have death metal act, No Raza who formed in 1997 and have grown to become a well-known act to lead the extreme metal assault in South America, as a result of their international presence and accomplishments, such as touring with established acts and playing at major festivals. 70,000 tonnes of metal are their latest claim as their cruised around the Caribbean performing with CARCASS, TESTAMENT and so many more its unreal! It’s about time we welcomed this incredible band to the UK so Mammothfest are proud to launch them here!

Joining them is thrash metallers Damaj from Scotland. Their unique take on thrash is largely guitar-driven, armed with a tonne of technical riffs, delivered at high speeds and wrapped in melodic harmony, a winning combination. Since their formation, they have been touring extensively and have gone on to support bands like One Machine, Fury, Blaze Bayley and Reign Of Fury. 2016 saw them release their debut EP, ‘The Wrath Of The Tide’.

Metal act Devil Wants Her Swagger Back from Ireland who formed in 2013, quickly became well known in Ireland growing a reputation for energetic sets. In fact only three months into touring they were impressively asked to play Slipknot’s sold out album launch party being dubbed as ‘the hottest new band in Dublin’. Since they have reached the Bloodstock’s ‘Metal 2 The Masses’ finals as well as securing festival slots in Europe. Currently, they have only released their debut EP, ‘Malice’ but thankfully are working on their follow up to be titled ‘Contempt’.

Sunday 8th October 2017 STONER DOOM MAIN stage

The Sunday Stoner Doom headliner is yet to be announced but confirmed bands are:

London act, Chubby Thunderous Bad Kush Masters who will be the final VIP after party band to end the festival. There is a lot of interest and intrigue as they describe their sound as tie-dye fuzz and stoner music, not to mention their strange name! The members themselves are made up of former Hang The Bastard and Chapters amongst others, so expect bizarre and brilliant things from them! They are currently touring the UK and heading out to Europe with John Garcia, Boss Keloid and Bongzilla later in the year.

Haast’s Eagled are a Welsh stoner doom band who have unleashed two EP since 2013. Their latest 2016 release ‘II: For Mankind’ which has been described as ‘exquisitely tasteful doomloungejazz’ – what else do you really need to know. Who wouldn’t want to hear what that sounds like!

Local Brighton act, Kalloused, brings elements of sludge, doom and post-metal to conjure up their sound. They released their debut ‘Damn You Believer’ last year, which caught people’s attention by being named as ones to watch and even making it into a staff member of Terrorizer’s magazine top 20 bands of 2016 thanks to their solid debut offering. They are busy touring with fellow festival line-up band OHHMS with further dates with Grave Lines (also playing Mammothfest) and more.

Sunday 8th October 2017 STONER DOOM 2nd stage
All the way from Poland is power metal act Thermit. Since forming in 2009 they have gone on to play many gigs and win numerous music European festivals and acknowledgements, which is quite the accolade including ‘best musician’, ‘best guitarists, ‘best vocalist’, ‘best drummer’ and lastly ‘best bassist’, so basically they are an extremely talented bunch of metallers that are one of Poland’s finest to watch out for! Thermit also released their debut album ‘Saints’ last year, signifying a new chapter for the band, so you will surely be treated to their new offerings.

Hampshire quartet Pensevor bring something a bit different to the table with their take on doom sludge metal by using an almost poetic vocal style whilst delivering broody, creepy vibes making them stand out.

Brighton based Thrash/Crossover quintet Mutually Assured Destruction like to provide some light hearted fun to soften the blow of their aggressive sound with comical song names such as “Trash Grandad” and “Blutack Attack” in their collection. They have recently just been announced to play a special ‘Mammothfest presents’ show with headliners Vader, Immolation and more on the 16th April Easter Sunday at the same venue that Mammothfest will be held!

Tickets for Mammothfest are available now with a variety of options, including day tickets and VIP weekend tickets.
