The Brighton Mammothfest 2016 extreme metal festival has announced their headliners for the three day festival, which takes place in the heart of Brighton on the weekend from Friday 30 September to 2 October 2016. Dutch prog-metallers Textures will headline the Friday night at The Haunt, and the Saturday sees the Venom Inc. headline The Concorde 2. Closing the weekend on the Sunday at The Green Door Store are UK Battle Doom monsters Conan.

The headliners announced so far across the three venues are:

Eastern Front, Friday 30th September @ The Green Door Store

Textures, Friday 30th September @ The Haunt

Venom inc., Saturday 1st October @ The Concorde 2

Conan, Sunday 2nd October @ The Green Door Store

For this third event since the return of the festival in 2014, the organisers have taken the decision to have a Black Metal stage. Festival Director Ashley Scott explained:

“Mammothfest 2016 is all about creating a great atmosphere for our bands and customers, we are doing all we can to support emerging UK talent. Offering a diverse and varied line-up is something we pride ourselves on and after a few discussions in the early meetings for the 2016 event, we decided to pull our socks up and to roll out our support for Black Metal this year by laying on a totally dedicated stage for it. Hopefully the new Black Metal stage takes off and our customers opt to support it as it is something year on year we would like to develop on and take to a bigger stage within the festival”.

Also announcedare:

The Infernal Sea, Friday 30th September @ The Green Door Store

Sworn Amongst, Saturday 1st October @ The Concorde 2

Black Moth*, Sunday 2nd October @ The Green Door Store

Bast, Sunday 2nd October @ The Green Door Store

Conjurer, Sunday 2nd October @ The Green Door Store

Speaking of the last five bands to be added, organiser Steve Dickson said

“We are thrilled to welcome these awesome bands to the bill for 2016, this year will be our strongest to date, without a doubt. It’s great to have a few more bands announced, I must point out though… ONLY ONE of these acts are main supports! Bonkers, considering the quality of what we just announced. Just you wait till we drop those remianing main supports, all will be revealed soon enough!!!”

As part of the announcements for 2016, Mammothfest have also confirmed that reasonably-pricedaccommodation will be available. This is a huge development for the festival and should provide a new wave of appeal to music fans from further a field.

Steve Dickson, Festival Director, commented:

“We know accommodation is expensive in Brighton, but when we learned that two die-hard Mammothfest fans from Bournemouth had to sleep in an alley way in order to attended the whole weekend, we just had to do something about it. So now we are proud to offer weekend tickets, including accommodation starting from just £120.00 per person. This works out at £25.00 per night for your accommodation and then you get your weekend festival ticket for just £45.00. With the larger bands and venues this year, we can say with total confidence, that we are without a doubt one of the most price friendly music events in the UK, considering the quality of what we have to offer”.
