Listen to new Mortiis remix ‘Doppelganger’ remixed by Die Krupps

By on 20 January 2017

This new Mortiis remix of ‘Doppelganger’ by Die Krupps is taken from the Mortiis remix album ‘The Great Corrupter’ released via Omnipresence on 21 April 2017. You can buy the latest Mortiis album ‘The Great Deceiver’ here or download ‘The Great Deceiver’ from iTunes.

‘Doppelganger’ is the first single masterfully ‘corrupted’ by cult Industrial band Die Krupps which is taken from the forthcoming ‘The Great Corrupter’ remix album. Other artists contributing remixes include Die Krupps, Godflesh, John Fryer, PIG, Merzbow, Apoptygma Bezerk, In Slaughter Natives and Prurient.

Speaking about ‘Doppelganger’, Mortiis himself said:

“The song is about looking at yourself, knowing everything is wrong. It´s about staring into your own soul and knowing it is corrupt, and desperately trying to exorcise the cancer within. It´s like a self realisation combined with self loathing. There´s a great sense of paranoia and guilt. The awakening of a self consciousness and remorse, wanting to but not truly being able (or motivated enough) to do anything about it. It´s about the knowledge and the feeling that everything is out of kilter, and the work it will take to fix is too much, or too blurred and complicated to begin to unravel…”

Ahead of the release of ‘The Great Corrupter’ remix album, the band will be embarking on a co-headline UK tour with PIG this March.

Mortiis commented:

“We always have a great time in the UK, so being able to go out on tour there again, and with old heroes PIG no less, makes it even more exciting! What makes this tour even more special, to me personally anyway, is the fact that we just remixed each other. PIG are on our upcoming remix album ‘The Great Corrupter’ so it´s a double whammy!”
