sibiir-01-600The self-titled debut album by Sibiir is out 9 December on Fysisk Format. You can buy ‘Sibiir‘ here.

Speaking about the record, the band told us:

“The album is ten tracks of hardcore infused metal, or the other way around, with hints of black, death and thrash. In a way, it reflects our different backgrounds and different approaches to heavier genres within the band. Whatever you want to call it, we’re really really excited to get it out there. We wanted it to sound organic and reflect how we sound live, not too polished or too complex. There’s hardly any overdubs or extra stuff, except some accordion and piano actually. It’s heavy, tight and full of energy, but it’s also melodic, sometimes even groovy. We couldn’t be more happy with how it sounds, Andreas Westhagen and Brad Boatright did a fantastic job. The lyrics varies from focusing on where society is heading, where we’re more concerned about maintaining a shiny fasade, rather than actually seeing what’s happening in the world today. To internal struggles, trying to break self destructive patterns. In other words, stuff that pisses us off and other personal issues. It’s an empowering album that we hope pump you full of energy, but it might also scare the living daylight out of you. So, hopefully, at the end of the album, you’ll find yourself both empty and uplifted.”
