sentient-horror-600The new album by Sentient Horror ‘Ungodly Forms’ is out via Testimony Records/Refining Darkness Records on 9 December. You can buy ‘Ungodly Forms’ here.

Speaking about the album, Matt Moliti (vocals & lead guitar) said:

“Musically, Ungodly Forms draws its inspiration primarily from the classic early ’90s Stockholm scene, although I’m just as inspired by bands such as Gorefest, Carcass, and Death, and I think you can kind of hear some of that done our way through the chainsaw guitar tone. I also draw inspiration from progressive rock, although not for riffing… I tend to take song structure and interesting rhythm or time signatures from that. For my leads and solos, I tried to go in the vibe of players like Michael Schenker and Yngwie Malmsteen. At first, I wasn’t sure how well that would get received inserted into old school death metal, but people seem to have responded well to it! Lyrically, I was trying to write mini horror stories… inspired by ’70s and ’80s horror films and EC comic books. I really like for death metal to have that aesthetic. It should be the sonic equivalent of a Tales From the Crypt comic, or the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.”

Sentient Horror are:

Matt Moliti – Vocals, Lead Guitar
Ian Jordan – Bass
Ryan Cardoza – Drums
Jon Lopez – Guitar
