Dvne release video for the track ‘Thirst’

Dvne have released a video for the track ‘Thirst’ taken from the band’s new album ‘Asheran’ which is out on Wasted State Records this 28 July. You can buy a copy of ‘Asheran’ here.

Need a break from the office? Perhaps the salvation of the weekend seems all too far away right now. We have something of a quick fix – an escape – in the form of this brand new video from Scotland-based metallers, Dvne.

The track, ‘Thirst’, is taken from their upcoming album, ‘Asheran’, and the video is premiering right here with us today. Although the band members are from various points across the continent, they’ve converged in Scotland, and the video pays something of a homage to their adopted homeland; much of it was shot in the Scottish Highlands, around Glencoe and Ben Nevis.

The band comment:

“‘Thirst’ is one of our favourite tracks on the album, probably because it totally encapsulates what we try to do with our music. We have always wanted to take the listener on a journey and tell stories, which is why we love using progressive elements and changing between movements during each track. With ‘Thirst’, these movements, as well as the lyrics are both used toward that end. There is also a deeper metaphor behind the track. The underlying theme here is really related to mankind’s relationship to powerful technologies disregarding impacts on our environment and ultimately ourselves.”

If you’re looking for some new music, something progressive and heavy, then you could do worse than to check out Asheran when it hits the shelves at the end of the month. Until then, take a break from the day to day drudgery, and find a little oasis of escape here with Thirst.
