Demonic Resurrection release lyric video for ‘Matsya – The Fish’

By on 25 January 2017

Demonic Resurrection have released a lyric video for the track ‘Matsya – The Fish’ taken from the band’s new, fifth album ‘Dashavatar’ out 15 March on Demonstealer Records. You can find out about the Demonic Resurrection PledgeMusic campaign here.

The band has based their album on the 10 Avatars of Vishnu, the preserver, from Hindu Mythology but at the same time considers the myths as nothing more than stories. Explaining this, frontman Demonstealer explained:

“The song MATYSA is about the first avatar of Vishnu which is that of a fish. It’s basically the Hindu version of the ‘flood myth’ much like the Noah’s ark story and similar stories found in Greek and Norse Mythology. Musically we’ve tried to push ourselves beyond our limits and what people know as the DR sound. We’ve flirted with the idea of exploring Hindu mythology as a lyrical idea with the last album ‘The Demon King’ and it was subtle. However with this album we’ve decided to just tell the stories as they are. However  we’ve ensure and want people to know that there is no religious context here and we don’t believe these to be true.  As we say in the album as well, man made demons, man made gods.”

Demonic Resurrection are:

Demonstealer – Vocals/Guitars/Keys
Nishith Hegde – Lead Guitars
Ashwin Shriyan – Bass/Backing Vocals
Virendra Kaith – Drums

Sitar played by Rishabh Seen and Tabla by Devang Shinde

The album was mixed by frontman Demonstealer and mastered by Victor Bullok in Germany who has worked with artists like Obscura and Tryptikon.
