FLESH EATING FOUNDATION
‘So Yeah?'
GLORY AND HONOUR RECORDS
Even the most hardened industrial fans have to crack a smile when confronted with the demented cyberpunk of the UK's own Flesh Eating Foundation, who are probably one of the most under-appreciated acts in the UK scene. The band's trademark of psychotic beats and schizophrenic vocals have afforded them a fierce reputation so far and now a new deal with Glory and Honour records gives the opportunity to launch a fresh attack on the scene.
The first wave of this attack comes in the form of the new EP ‘So Yeah?' which boasts high-profile reinforcements from the likes of Angelspit and Twilight Laboratory on remix duties. The band's formula has changed little since the days of ‘Seethe', they have just got better as song writers as the multiple takes of the title track prove. From sing-a-long anthem, to dance floor seducing and even as a slower moodier piece, ‘So Yeah?' delivers in every incarnation.
Bulked out in turn by the equally impressive ‘Seed The Hate', ‘Gratitude', ‘Outlast You' and a great take on Babyland's ‘Worst Case Scenario', the EP is a great reassertion of the band's vision and works as a good introduction to FEF for the uninitiated.
If the band's anticipated full-length follow up is a long the same lines as this taster, then it is safe to say that FEF could easily reach their potential.
