MURDERDOLLS
'Women And Children Last'
ROADRUNNER
Having disappeared for two years shy of a decade Murderdolls return with their infectious breed of glam punctured horror punk. A little older and wiser, Jordison, Wednesday et al have written darker, more sinister lyrics and strayed away from the B-movie references of yesteryear. The ghoulish five deliver a bigger more polished sound with better production, Jordison even slams down a solo in 'Rock N Roll Is All I Got'. The addictive 'Pieces Of You' has many sing-a-long moments creating an amusing oxymoron. Wednesday 13's 'fresh from the morgue' vocals still resonate Alice Cooper - like on tracks like 'Blood Stained Valentine' but when you're fist pumping to "don't be afraid as I mutilate you with this blade" this matters little. 'Women and Children Last' is like a knife wielding lunatic with a smile. Whilst it doesn't offer fresh carrion to the genre there's plenty to sink your teeth into as Murderdolls solidify their position as more than a horror-novelty act.
