Thirsting for more Lost Boys

Like many of us, Lost Boys was one of my favourite movies as a child, if only for the coolness of Keifer Sutherland. Later, when Lost Boys: The Tribe sequel was released, with Corey Feldman as the awesome Edgar Frog, I expected the series to have concluded. Thankfully, this is not the case.
Lost Boys; The Thirst is directed by Dario Piana, with a script written by Evan Charnov and Hans Radionoff. The Thirst begins when now destitute and friendless vampire hunter Edgar Frog believes he has hit bottom – until a wealthy vampire-romance novelist offers a small fortune to begin the vampire hunt of a lifetime to rescue her son from the Alpha Vampire. With the help of his friends, Edgar heads into a bloody battle to exterminate vampires.
Starring along side Corey Feldman will be Jamison Newlander, Tanit Phoenix, Sean Cameron Michael, Matthew Dylan Roberts, Joe Vaz, Seb Castang, Porteus Xandu Steenkamp and Matthew Kalil.
I cannot deny that I had a smirk when reading Edgar Frog would be hired by a vampire-romance novelist, and could not help but wonder if this is a small nod to the proliferation of vampire novels. The citing of an Alpha Vampire implies this is will be the master vampire of the species, and with that in mind will this be the final Lost Boys movie?
Despite the film being direct to DVD, it still looks like a fun ride that doesn’t take itself too seriously (and has lots of big guns). Lost Boys: The Thirst will be released direct to DVD and Blu-ray on October 12th.
