The Walking Dead are Coming

If there is one TV series I am looking forward this autumn, it is the forthcoming zombie-apocalypse drama The Walking Dead. Based upon ongoing The Walking Dead graphic novels, the series will follow Sheriff Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) as he and a small band of survivors attempt to find sanctuary from the hordes of living dead that now walk the earth.
The graphic novels upon which the TV series is based upon are incredible, and wisely focus on the human element. Despite the unrelentingly harsh situation, the story continually demonstrates an impressive degree of humanity and heart. Unlike some zombie movies, we actually give a damn about the characters in The Walking Dead.
In fact, everything I am hearing about the series promises that The Walking Dead will be a truly exceptional piece of serialised television. From director Frank Darabont’s (The Mist and Shawshank Redemption) involvement as show runner, to the level of detail we have seen in the costumes and make up of the zombies.
And then there is this, the official trailer for The Walking Dead (finally released to the web. Damn it looks good.
