Return of the Murderdolls

Whilst the Murderdolls are not Goth, the fact the have reformed is undoubtedly significant. Their previous release was the classic Beyond the Valley of the Murderdolls, that is worthy of a place in anyone’s music collection. Following their last show in Carolina in 2004, the Murderdolls have been on an indefinite hiatus. Until now.
Wednesday 13 and Joey Jordison reformed Murderdolls earlier this year; but without Slade, Griffin, or Graves. Since then they have recorded their first album following their hiatus entitled “Women and Children Last”. The forth coming album includes tracks such as “Summertime Suicide” and “Bloodstained Valentine”. Anyone familiar with the band will recognise this as classic Murderdolls.
A release date has yet to be set for the new album. However, the first track from the album My Dark Place Alone has been released for streaming, and it is really rather good.
While some criticize that My Dark Place Alone is nothing new from the Murderdolls, I believe it is a great track. Wednesday 13’s last album Skeletons was significantly more personal than his previous work, it just wasn’t as good as what we have come to expect. For me this is a return to form, and one which I am eager to see more of!
