Love Like Blood announce final performance

By on 18 January 2011

German gothic metal band Love Like Blood have announced that their first performance in over a decade at this year’s Wave-Gotik-Treffen festival, will also be the band’s last. The band, which is made-up of the brotherly duo of Yorck and Gunnar Eysel, will headline the festival’s opening night on June 9 at Agra Halle 2.

Love Like Blood made their debut on the Goth scene in 1989 with the album ‘Flags Of Revolution’. However it was their fifth album, ‘Exposure’ (1995), which would prove to be their breakthrough. ‘Exposure’ saw the band switch from the familiar Fields Of The Nephilim influenced darkwave to a harder, more metal sound which they continued with until their final album, 2001’s ‘Chronology Of A Love Affair’.

The opening night of this year’s WGT will celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the festival with sets performed by the bands who played the original festival in 1992. Das Ich, The Eternal Afflict, Sweet William, Age of Heaven and Henke have all been announced with more names to come in the following months.
