BLACKFIELD
'Welcome To My DNA"
KSCOPE
Blackfield are renowned for creating melancholic soundscapes with delicious hooks intertwined with catchy pop sensibilities. This third offering from the progressive duo represents an evolution of the Blackfield sound with a wider spectrum of songs distinguishing themselves from Porcupine Tree. This is particularly apparent on angsty number 'Go To Hell' complete with nihilistic vocals resonating Fear of a Blank Planet. The exhilarating 'Blood' nods firmly towards Orphaned Land. This energetic and ethereal conglomerate is impressively upbeat. Welcome To My DNA is a cocktail of lugubrious lyrics, mesmerising guitars and hypnotic orchestral accompaniment, welcome to the genius of Wilson and Geffen. [8.5]
