MOONSORRROW CHECK IN FROM THE STUDIO

As everyone knows, Moonsorrow retreated back to the studio this year to work on a new album currently pegged for a release date around late February 2011. Right before the band started to work on the mix, Wretched Spawnee Ann Sulaiman managed to sneak but a few words from mainman Ville Sorvali on the next chapter of Moonsorrow's epic, heathen saga.
Chapter V: Ravaged saw a return to the band's roots in melodic black metal, with some moments of ambience. Will the upcoming new album be something of a continuation of that sound in anyway, or can we expect to hear something different?
Definitely something different, as every time. I think the sound will be a lot darker than anything we've done - [more] heavy and crushing.
Would it remain true to the vision of Moonsorrow as "epic heathen metal"?
Oh yes, definitely. But with a new edge, somewhat at least. All I can say is that it definitely sounds like something after the end of the world...
Like the mythical End times, that many are concerned about of late; or even like a rebirth?
Well, it could deal with the concerns people have had about the end of the world. There is a rebirth aspect as well, but not in the "classical" sense of it.
How so?
It's a story about what might happen after the "end of the world", but not directly connected with any mythological approach. I wouldn't say that there is a straight-forward message; like I said, I'm keeping it mysterious!
