BODYFARM
'Bodyfarm'
Walking through a battlefield is like walking into the deepest depths of hell, listening to Bodyfarm is like raiding a sweet shop, exhilarating. Dutch Death Metallers Bodyfarm take the military and death approach to their music from which they find themselves amongst the new breed of Death Metal bands, fusing riff upon riff, continual blastbeats, sickening vocals and growling to the spine of Amersfoort's garrison (the largest in The Netherlands). Welcome to the de-militarized zone, a place where no weaponry is allowed except the murdering of many in the solemn and dark place known simply as the 'Bodyfarm'.

POSTHUMAN
'Rise From Ruins'
Dutch Melodic Death Metallers slaughter Groningen with their awaited debut album 'Rise From Ruins'. Sounding in many ways like Scar Symmetry with the changing vocals and pace of music, it seems like Europe itself has a metal war going on with the East holding Folk Metal and the West Death Metal. However, it is almost completely irrational to state that no European country has a flag flyer (only the first of its kind from that country.) Posthuman, rather uniquely have shifted Melodic Death Metal a notch and into full flight. Weaving military influences into their music results in the newly dubbed 'Military Metal'. So deep is the Dutch accent, so brutal is Posthuman, so much so history is to 'Rise From Ruins'.

RETRACE MY FRAGMENTS
'Vertizontal'
In the tiny land of Luxembourg, in the year of 2008, a bloody massacre took place, in the form of four Luxembourgers and one EP entitled 'Vertizontal', this would be later known as the first sign of Deathcore act Retrace My Fragments. Brutal as they may look, no underestimations are found here, visually brutal, audio? FUCKING BRUTAL. Riff's erupt till mass psychosis is brought upon the listener and at the same time neurology has a new case to study because this quartet offers headbang after headbang times in their music. It is safe to say as Retrace My Fragments are babies in terms of releases, inside they are titans but more importantly, THE FLAG FLYER'S OF LUXEMBOURG!

BLACK SEPTEMBER
'Black September / Ravenlord Darkstorm Split'
Considering Ravenlord Darkstorm split up in 2008 there is no point in reviewing it as the connection would be dead, so focusing on Dutch NSBM one-man project Black September sees a myriad of raw guitar strumming, mind-boggling drumming and insanity throughout, highlighting music's most controversial genre. Safe to say it is Dutch Black Metal, NSBM is not. Vocals are raw as sushi yet adds to the scaryness of the music, perfect for days within a 'Black September'.

HULDREFOLK
'Morbide Elite'
IRON AGE
Whispering is rude in some cases, in music it is highly strange and Huldrefolk is no exception, the Belgian Black Metal quartet deliver brilliant blast beats and background raw guitars, but the vocals are a lot to be desired for a Black Metal release, barely heard in front of the music, the music itself takes over, which in a way does the vocalist a favor, but still the clarity of the 'Flemish' vocals are yet to be exploited and so concludes the delusional path of following the 'Morbide Elite'

PREJUDICE
'Megalomaniac Infest'
SOULFLESH COLLECTOR
Belgium may be small, but it packs a hell of a lot of brutality, and the Benelux pact has a new son in the form of Brutal Death Metallers Prejudice and their 2009 release 'Megalomaniac Infest'. So much for cheval being offered at the supermarket when on the public address system, cheesy music is always broadcasted, clearly they missed off this quartet, not that Prejudice should come with a health warning, that would be overboard. But what they should come with is an MTV Europe award, because 'Megalomaniac Infest' is one of the best Belgian albums of all time, you can be the judge yourself.
