Blogstock – Machine Head Review

By on August 12, 2012

As promised, here’s the lowdown on Machine Head’s Bloodstock headline set!

Opening with a blast of pyro and a furious rendition of ‘I Am Hell’, Machine Head attacked the task at hand like true metal titans, and didn’t look back. Utterly assured and buoyed by a particularly vocal crowd Robb Flynn and co stepped up to the plate without a shred of hesitation, their setlist – featuring a clutch of seldom-heard cuts from their ‘Burn My Eyes’ debut – as strong as their performance. Sure, they’re not everyone’s cup of tea, but this was far from the flop some expected (or, indeed, hoped for), the likes of ‘Halo’, ‘Block’ and, of course, ‘Davidan’ going down a storm. Another milestone down for the four-piece… don’t bet against them headlining even larger stages in the future.  Let freedom ring…

We’ll be keeping you updated on the latest happenings from Bloodstock all through the day, so keep ‘em peeled!
