Anaal Nathrakh’s Dave Hunt: “If I’m really pissed in a bar and ‘Davidian’ comes on you might see me shouting along”

By on August 1, 2012

We recently caught up with Anaal Nathrakh/Benediction frontman and Terrorizer.com blogger Dave Hunt and the subject of Bloodstock came up, obviously.

“Bloodstock is undeniably important in the UK, so it’s a big thing to play,” commented the frontman.

And on the subject of the big Machine Head announcement, Dave simply said: “If I’m really pissed in a bar and ‘Davidian’ comes on, you might see me shouting along cause I remember it from when I was a kid, other than that it’s not my kind of thing. There was a bit of a backlash when they were announced which is complete rubbish – you’ve got a band that plays metal, at the heavier end of the mainstream bit of it, that are an enormous band that thousands and thousands of people like – what’s controversial about that? Just get on with what you want to do.”

You can catch Dave at Bloodstock playing with Benediction on August 11 and Anaal Nathrakh on Sunday 12.
