Infest
Bradford University Student Union
24th – 26th August 2012

Infest has been a mainstay of the UK industrial calendar for fourteen years now, and despite growing competition from numerous events across the world, still pulls in the big acts. This year internationally renowned acts such as Klinik, Solitary Experiments, XP8, Tenek and Suicide Commando provide just a few of the highlights on an exciting bill that will see many bands marking their first ever UK performances.

As usual the festival kicks off at it’s traditional home at Bradford University falling, as ever, on the most convenient weekend of the year – August bank holiday (AKA recovery Monday) – which means there are three full evenings to enjoy. Opening the first evening is the sumptuous synthpop duo Spacebuoy who can count the legendary Vince Clarke amongst their fans. Next comes German duo Dirty K who bring their unique brand of noize to the proceedings. Next up is Necro Facility who make their UK début at the festival. Friday night’s headliners come in the form of The Klinik: the legendary and ground-breaking Belgian industrialists make their long awaited UK début and are not to be missed!

The second day sees the return of the market at 2.00pm before London’s own System:FX kick off the evening with their high-octane, guitar-tinged industrial. Then in another début, German party boyz Suono will then bring their techno-indutrial anthems to the UK for the first time. Next Belgian legends, A Split-Second will bring their subversive sounds to a UK stage for the first time in their career. Next, by popular demand, comes the ever-brilliant XP8 who will be able to add Infest to their already impressive list of performances. Barcelona’s Geistform will then unleash an intense industrial set full of kicking beats, analogue noise and plenty of distortion. Saturday’s headliners are one of the foremost names in electronic-pop music today, Solitary Experiments, who will bring their exciting blend of emotionally charged club hits to the stage to close the second night.

For those who managed to survive the previous two nights, Sunday has even more on offer with Mancunian electro-rockers Resist opening the proceedings with their dark and sexy sounds at 4.00pm. UK synthpop powerhouse Tenek follows next to bring their introspective yet anthemic sound to the festival. Next comes yet another UK début courtesy of Blitzmaschine who bring their classic ebm sound to these shores for the first time. Absurd Minds follow next to bring their brand of powerful dance-floor seducing electro style to the Infest audience. The weekend’s penultimate band comes in the form of Drum’n'Noise purveyors Winterkälte who bring the complex and often abstract style of electronics to the festival. Finally it is the turn of the legendary Suicide Commando to bring a healthy offering of gore-spattered harsh ebm to round off the evening and Infest for another year.
