Festival Darkend – Part 3

By on January 31, 2012

Billed as Midnight Configuration’s last ever performance, this is to be perhaps the band’s finest hour. For a band reputed for rarely playing live, to here now witness their farewell, hanging over the event as a grey cloud, although, all grey clouds have silver linings and as Trev explained in our interview, the band as a music creating unit will continue under a new banner, new ideas and a return to their roots with Trev taking up his plectrum once more, so all is not lost. With an excellent set showcasing just why the band have been around for so long, eighteen years, ten albums and two EPs to be precise, producing unforgettable EBM in the form of ‘Satanic Industrial’, with such delights as ‘Luciferian’ and ‘Unholy Beat’ finding their deserved place in the set, we are all left wanting more, just one more perhaps, for me at least to hear ‘Undead/Lifeforce’ live would have been the jewel in my gothic crown but alas it wasn’t to be.
