Hammers Of Misfortune and four more for Roadburn

By on November 2, 2011

Genre-bending progsters Hammers Of Misfortune are one of three new additions for the already-amazing Roadburn Festival line-up.

Led by John Cobbett, previously a member of the tragically defunct Ludicra, Hammers Of Misfortune will play their hard rock/thrash/doom/prog combination on the Thursday of the Roadburn.

Also joining the bill are doom/black metal Dutch experimentalists Urfaust, who will play their unique take on music at the Afterburner on the Sunday.

They will be joined by Welsh doomsters Sigiriya, a band that should be no stranger to Terrorizer readers after their recent lead Choice Cut in #214 (September, Opeth). Also announced are doom metal pairing Lord Vicar from Finland and Orchid from the US.

They join the Voivod-curated event which will be held on April 12-15 at the 013 venue in Tilburg, The Netherlands. Already confirmed for the festival are Ulver, The Obsessed, Sleep, Om, Agalloch, Coroner, Solstafir, Justin K Broadrick (this year’s artist in residence), d.USK, Tombs, Pelican, Black Breath, Red Fang, Black Cobra and 40 Watt Sun. Curators Voivod will play  ‘Dimension Hatröss’ in its entirety.

Tickets for this year’s amazing show go on presale on November 26 at 10am Central European Time, and are sure to sell out quickly, so get yours while you can.

Prices for the event are €177.50 for a 3-day pass (1000 available), €197.50 for a 4-day pass inc. Afterburner pass (1500 available) with 500 passes for the Afterburner only at €32.50. Prices do not include fees, but do include tax.
