HOME OF METAL WEEKENDER: DETAILS REVEALED

Capsule is excited to announce the Home of Metal weekender, a weekend of events celebrating Birmingham and the Black Country as the home of heavy metal music taking place from 1-4 September.

Highlights include the UK’s first international heavy metal conference, featuring some of the world’s leading academics and ‘metallectuals’, and a touring film programme ‘Metal on Film’.

For younger metallers, there will be an extensive range of family activities at all participating venues, including studded wrist band and backstage pass making. Other family activities include cardboard guitar making workshops, Bat Out of Hell Bat Walks and the chance to pose for a Heavy Metal photoshoot.

After dark, various club nights, concerts and an eclectic range of cultural events will take place, including a Heavy Metal Bingo, live music from Gentlemans Pistols and a special performance from former Turner Prize-nominee Mark Titchner, all celebrating Birmingham and the Black Country as the home of heavy metal.
